What is RAPID Neurofascial Reset?

RAPID Reset is a therapeutic technique that reduces or eliminates pain by quickly re-setting your nervous system's over protective response to pain signals.

How is RAPID different from other bodywork modalities like massage therapy?

RAPID is different from most other treatment modalities in that it targets your nervous system and pain receptors specifically rather than focusing on muscles directly. It reduces tension in fascia by stimulating the fascia, tendons, ligaments and bones directly which is where most pain receptors lie.

What conditions does RAPID treat?

RAPID can address virtually any condition that involves pain, even if that pain has not responded well to other therapies.

Common conditions that respond well to RAPID include:

Migraines/Headaches

Low Back Pain/Sciatica

TMJ/Jaw Pain

Whiplash

Shoulder Pain/Frozen Shoulder Pain

Tennis/Golfers' Elbow

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Knee Pain

Shin Splints

Plantar Fasciitis

Arthritic Joints....and much more....ask if you have specific questions!

What is a typical RAPID treatment like?

A typical RAPID treatment focuses on one specific pain issue and lasts for up to 30 minutes. Hypersensitive areas are treated by combining precisely directed manual tension and depth with very specific client movements. Some of these movements can be intense and that is precisely what makes RAPID so effective.

How many RAPID treatments will I need?

Typically just a few RAPID treatments effectively reduce or even eliminate your pain. Sometimes a single treatment is all that is needed and other times a dozen or more treatments might be needed as long as continued gradual progress is being made. So...short answer...it varies!

What should I wear for my RAPID appointments?

You will remain fully clothed during your RAPID treatment. Light, comfortable stretchy fabrics are best such as t-shirts, sweat pants, yoga pants etc., that allow for easy movement. PLEASE do NOT wear blue jeans or other stiff, restrictive clothing.

What should I do and expect after my RAPID treatment?

Expect some initial increased discomfort in the first 24-48 hours after your treatment, much like you get after an intense workout or sudden increase in activity. After that your pain should subside and the effects of your RAPID treatment will start to become noticeable.

It is VERY IMPORTANT to keep moving after a RAPID treatment to get the best results possible. Gentle movement will help your brain recognize that this movement is no longer a threat to your body so it can reduce the frequency and intensity of the pain signals it had become accustomed to sending.

Since RAPID works by creating a mild inflammatory response it is also important NOT to do anything that reduces this inflammatory/healing process. Please do NOT take any NSAID's like Motrin, Aleve, ibuprofen etc. if at all possible. Also do NOT apply ice to the treated area. Gentle heat is ok to use as needed.

Massage Therapy That Works.

Typically you will begin to see and feel results within the first two or three sessions. After that we can discuss transitioning into a maintenance program that works for you.
